Seed Selection

Marijuana strains should be at the top of every growers list. When selecting a cannabis variety to grow, all should think of a few things:

1)Gender

In today's market, there are two sexes of cannabis seeds on the market - feminized and regular.
Feminized seeds are made by crossing two female marijuana plants together with special techniques in order to produce offspring that are basically all female sensimilla.
Regular seeds are produced naturally, with the male plants pollinating the female marijuana flowers, resulting in marijuana seeds.

2) Autoflowering or Regular

Autoflowering cannabis seeds are not triggered by the change in the amount of hours in a day. This means that they flower in whatever conditions from seed in a certain time frame. This also makes autoflowering strains impossible to clone, as they must continuously be bought from seed. The advantages lie in the extremely short harvest time, making this a wonder for quick indoor operations.
Regular seeds are triggered by the change of daylight, and can be controlled by such. When a plant gets less than 16 hours of light in it's day, it will start the flowering process. These photosensitivity leads growers to be able to control how big and when they want their marijuana plants to finish at. Regular seeds are notoriously more reliable, and have less problems with hermaphroditing, although this is not always the case.

3) Genetics

The majority of popular weed seeds available for buying on the internet have been hybridized again-and-again. While this often can lead to magnificent results, the cost lies in reproduction.
When over-hybridized strains are bred, many of the offspring are varied in physical features. This is not advantageous for the grower, as this will lead to some plants being ready for harvest before others, as well as yielding a different finished product.
What's best to do is buy landrace seeds or F1 (first fillial generation) seeds. These F1 seeds produce much more stable offspring, and selected from good lines, have great strength in their genetics.
In conclusion,
The successful marijuana grower must certainly select their seeds well. More important than fertilizer even is solid genetics. With high quality strains, a victory is sure to be had.
Use hybrid seeds that have a good balance of indica and sativa for most growers. There are plenty of all-purpose sativa indica hybrids that are beneficial for the majority of users.

  • Sativa will give more of a trippy psychedelic head high, with less effects in the body.
  • Indica will create noticable pain relief and body effects.
  • Ruderalis is basically hemp, and won't do much for a high.

Growing marijuana seeds in different climates can be done easily for nearly anyone, anywhere.
For indoor growers, better select a quick flowering cannabis variety in order to optimize the amount of output made for the cost of electricity and other costs. There are many indica and indica dominant varieties that do well indoors and finish quick and high quality.
For outdoor growers, it should be advised to select a seed variety that does well in the weather and handles the environmental stresses of your area. Usually picking a sativa or sativa dominant strain does better with outdoor conditions than their indica sisters.

Amazing results can be had legally with the right seed selection.
